Proximity switch in rectangular design

The flat proximity switches are based on three different technologies: reed, Hall as well as the magnetoresistive effect. Depending on the requirements of the later areas of use, proximity switches on reed or Hall-effect basis and magnetoresistive sensors offer different advantages, such as the high number of switching cycles, which results in a long service life.

 

Due to the contactless actuation, they are also wear-free. The electronic proximity switches (Hall and magnetoresistive) feature better sensitivity and are ideally suited to applications with strong vibrations; reed sensors require no power supply.

Typical applications of the flat switches range from agricultural and construction machinery to a wide range of industrial applications.

 

High flexibility is standard for elobau. The number of available housing designs and cable and plug variants offer a suitable solution for every type of position detection and facilitate versatile use.

 

Rectangular proximity switch with reed contact

The magnetic proximity switches operate with reed contacts, and switch upon approach of a magnet. The main advantage of these proximity switches is the function without applied power supply. The variable switching voltage and the variable switching currents as well as the high switching power facilitate high flexibility in the application (up to 250 V AC/DC,  up to 1.5 A).

 

The reed proximity switches contain no mechanical or wearing parts, which ensures a long service life with up to 109 switching cycles.

Magnetoresistive proximity switch

The magnetoresistive proximity switches in rectangular design are full-electronic MR sensors. The magnetoresistive module responds on the approach of the magnet, and depending on the selection, delivers either a digital NPN or PNP switching signal. A high degree of accuracy is achieved through the high sensitivity, which is an advantage for many applications. In addition, the magnet is detected independent of its polarity. The magnetoresistive sensors are reverse-polarity protected and short-circuit proof.
